Religious meaning
-In Africa, Ivory Coast is located on the western part of its coast.
-Mask making and sculpturing are the two most enjoyed crafts done in the Ivory Coast.

The Yohure are noted for their beautifully crafted masks that combine human and animal features.
These masks are consider very powerful and dangerous objects.

Lo ceremony
In Lo funeral ceremonies masks covered with balck pigments appear. Women may not participate in funeral ceremonies, neither may they look at the masks,for fear that this encounter with daeth might jeopardize their fecundity.
The je celebration purifies the village after a death and helps the deceased's souls on its way to a final resting place. Painted mask are mainly worn by dancers during this ceremony.
