Evaluation Question 2
Transcript of Evaluation Question 2
How Effective is the Combination of Your Main Product and Ancillary Texts?
A lot of our branding came from our bands overall image as a whole. The
name was very well thought out, the font was specifically designed to have a course
edge, yet swirly font, similar to that of the brand name Bratz or Barbie, which are
both products and companies who aim there products at very young and girly girls,
which is one half of our bands constrasting image, the other half being general rebellion.
This font is the basis representation of the band, which even from the title of our product,
starts off our bands image and keeps it going, helping this sense of verisimilitude.
Another motif we used throughout all our auxiliary tasks and video, is our costumes,
and props. The costumes were kept tight and black, putting emphasis on the face and
make-up, as well as they're actions in the video/poses in the photos. The props of the slightly wilted roses of two colours for each character, and the slightly beaten up doll(s) which kept our creepy-yet-girly feel. I think using all this, and keeping it
constant, has created a good verisimilitude and
professionalism to our main tasks and auxiliary tasks. It gives the exact feeling and look which was our intent, and therefore is very effective.
