Taichung has many different landscapes. In the east there are mountains, like Daxue Shan. You can hike on trails or visit tea farms. When you are tired you can soak in the hot springs in Guguan.
In the west you can go to the beach and go bird watching in Gaomei Wetlands.
Central Taichung is flat. The soil is great
for growing food or other plants. This field of scarlet sage is in Xinshe.

Taichung City has great public attractions. The National Museum of Science has interesting exhibits on everything from space to dinosaurs. Over 500,000 students visit every year! The National Museum of Art has paintings, photographs, and sculptures from artists all around the world. There is even a library inside.
