Christopher Columbus-Started European exploration to America
Ferdinand Magellan- first person to circumnavigate the globe in one journey
Vasco De Gama-first person to find a new sea route to Asia
Vasco Nunez de Balboa-He climbed to the top of a mountain and saw the Pacific ocean stretching out in front of him
The More You Invent, The Farther You Go
Leif Eriksson-first person to find America.
Christopher Columbus-landed in the Bahamas on October 12Th, 1492.
Ferdinand Magellan-sailed down the east coast of Africa and landing in the Philippines.
Vasco De Gama-Sailed around Cape of Good Hope and landed in southwestern India.
Bartolomeu Dias-sailed along the southern tip of Africa and found the Cape of Good Hope.
The Caravel sail-triangular sails that could sail into/against the wind
The Caravel Hull-smooth and well rounded and could sail in high waves
The Caravel Rudder- large center that could make quick turns
Astrolabe- a device that could make navigators to know their ships location by the position of the stars
Magnetic Compass- freely suspended magnetic element that points to the Earths magnetic field
