Hamlet's Character
His Good and Bad Qualities
Would Hamlet Have
Made a Good King?

Positive Qualities:
Negative Qualities:
Hamlet is a clever man who knows
the importance of knowledge.
He is responsible for cold blooded
murder, knowingly killing his friends
and Claudius.
So what attributes
should a king have?

Good Qualities of a King
which Hamlet Posses:
But Traits
Such As This
Could Be Both
Good and Bad:
Distrustful
Harsh
Murderer
Introvert
Aggressive
Wisdom
Philosophical
Loyalty
Resourcefulness
Collected
Renowned
Heir
Emotional
Disinterested
Melancholic
Paranoid
Narcissistic
Rash
Obsessive
Lacking Poise

Values loyalty and is faithful to who
he's close to.
He is worldly-wise and careful to
trust; almost paranoid.
He is a quick thinker knowing how
to act on situations that would leave
others in panic.
He has studied the royal duties
that's needed to be king.
Hamlet is emotionally unstable, a
pessimist and has a history of
madness.
He is uncertain about himself and
doubtful of people.
He has a harsh judgement of character
that lacks mercy and empathy.
So does Hamlet deserve the crown...
... or would his death have saved the kingdom?
Bad Qualities a King
Shouldn't Posses:
Hamlet is just human while
being 'King' is an image.
Hamlet still prince and
not yet a king.
The whole situation would
bring anyone into madness.
So in conclusion:
Hamlet would have been a good king
but due to circumstances in the play,
it shaped his character into one that
that would be deemed unfit. Since most
of his problematic flaws stems from
problems other characters have
introduced.
