Transcript of This is our project for Math PBL Intergers!
Subtracting Integers with like terms
SUBTRACTING WITH LIKE TERMS MEANS THAT WHEN YOU HAVE TO NEGATIVE NUMBER YOU CHANGE THE SIGN TO ADDING AND ADD IT.
SO WHAT YOU HAD TO DO WAS KCO YOU KEPT THE -4 CHANGE - TO + THEN YOU HAD PUT THE opposite OF -5 SO YOUR ANSWER IS positive 1.
Multiplying Integers with like terms
When you multiply 2 numbers and they have the same the signs it will always be positive no matter if it is negative signs or positive signs it will always be positive.
Multiplying Integers with unlike terms
DIVIDING integers WITH LIKE TERMS
this means that no matter what the quotient will always be positive and so if you have a negative divided by a negative it will come out a positive and same for the positive.
example:-15 divided -3 = 5
Adding with like terms
Adding integers with like terms mean that when you add positive plus positive it will be positive and if you have a negative and a negative it will be a negative so if they have the same signs on positive then it will be positive and if it is same signs on negative it will be negative.
example:-5 + -6=-11
Multiplying with unlike terms
means when you have different signs it will always be a negative no matter what the number is.
Example: -2 x 4=-8
Adding integers with unlike terms
Adding with unlike terms means when you have a negative and a positive it will be negative if that number is bigger or a positive if that number is bigger. the largest number sign.
example: -9 + 7=-2
you had to use the bigger number.
with unlike terms
subtracting integers with unlike means that when you have a negative and a positive it will come out a negative.you have to use kco and keep, change, oppisite.s what you have to do is.......
example: 23 - (-15)= 38
so what you had to do was keep the 23 and change subtraction to addition and change the -15 to a positive 15.
dividing integers with unlike terms
dividing with unlike terms means that when you have to divide the two integers with different signs then you have a negative number.so no matter what if they have different signs then the answer is negative.
example: +50 / -10 = -5
example: 64 / (-4) = -16
