History Behind It All
Tint Colors of Lenses
Since blue and violet have the shortest wavelengths, meaning they are closer to the ultraviolet waves, these color tints can result in damage to your eyes. As we get closer to the yellow color, it becomes safer due to the fact that theses color tints absorb harmful blue visible light and provide protection.

Polarized Lenses
Polarized Lenses VS. Light
Polarized lenses reduce the reflected glare; for example, the sunlight that beams off of water. Many people use polarized lenses for skiing, driving, and fishing.

Purpose Of Sunglasses
Many people feel the need to wear sunglasses due to medical reasons. The sun's UV rays can cause not only cancer around the eyelids and skin around the eyes, but also photokeratits, aka snow blindness, which is a temporary, but painful, sunburn of the eye's surface.

Also, another reason why sunglasses are worn is it provides comfortable vision. The sun's brightness often affects the ability to see clearly, causing people to squint, and their eyes to water.
Sunglasses VS. EMS
Sunglasses affect the EMS in ways such as, it stops the waves in a process called absorption where lighter colored materials are able to take in more light while the darker colors repel light from the subject.

can be made in almost any prescription
can be tinted in almost any color

Cons:
easily breakable
softer than glass, so they are more prone to scratching
For my sunglasses, I am choosing to use lightly colored tints, such as yellow. They are considered safer because they are farther away from the ultraviolet waves. Lighter colors do not absorb, they reflect, making it easier when referring to sunglasses, to see.
Why?
In this case, you get what you pay for. These sunglasses have polarized lenses so they will reduce glare while driving, they are durable, and they are made from the Polycarbonate lens materials which provides 100% UV protection.
Why?
Having our sunglasses worn all of the world will provide great experiences to the one's that wear them. Are lens materials and tints are top of the line. SunRays is the sunglasses future of the world. It is our goal to make wearing sunglasses more enjoyable and beneficial to our clients, and that is just what we plan to do!
I choose to polarize the lenses, due to the facts that:
these lenses are are very comfortable to eyes that are sensitive to glare
they are good for driving since they cut off reflective glare from the pavement
they aid in better vision

Having spent 2 to 3 hours in bright sunlight can affect the eye's ability to adapt quickly to the night or indoor lighting. It can make driving at night more on the unsafe side, so wearing sunglasses in the daytime can protect one's risk of getting in an accident at night

I chose Polycarbonate lenses for my sunglasses because they are
very strong
light weight
thin
nearly shatterproof, and also polycarbonate is one of the items used in making bullet proof glass

Above shows many different tints used for sunglasses. Notice how many of them are light-colored, due to the fact hat they are considered the safest.
Inuit people wore flattened walrus ivory as glasses. They had narrow slits in them in order to block out the harmful UV rays
In the earlier prehistoric times, Inuit people wore flattened walrus ivory that had slits in them in order to block out the UV rays. Later on, Nero, a Roman emperor would use emaralds to watch gladiator fights, however, this technique was used more as mirrors. During the 12th century in China, sunglasses were made from flat panes of smokey quartz which did not help with protection of UV rays, but did prevent glare.
