SPACE EXPLORATION Mercury Earth Saturn Uranus Mercury is the closest planet to the sun and also is 4879.4km. Since Earth has lots of land and lots of sea it is mostly blue. The gas planets do not have solid surfaces, their gaseous material simply gets denser with depth. Saturn's interior is hot (12000 K at the core) and Saturn radiates more energy into space than it receives from the Sun. Saturn is a gas giant just like jupiter. Uranus is composed primarily of rock and various ices, with only about 15% hydrogen and a little helium (in contrast to Jupiter and Saturn which are mostly hydrogen). Their are 8 planets &Pluto the dwarf planet in our solar system! Now mercury is the smallest planet since pluto is no longer a planet. The temperature in the morning it is 800 degrees celsius. Venus Jupiter Mars Neptune Pluto The southern hemisphere of Mars is predominantly ancient cratered highlands somewhat similar to the Moon.Mars has 2 moons. It has the TALLEST mountains in our Solar System. Venus' surface is actually hotter than Mercury's despite being nearly twice as far from the Sun.The size of Venus is 12,103.6 km. It is the only planet that has land and sea,Earth has only 1 moon. The size of Earth is 12,756.3 km. Mars is the REDEST in Our Solar System! The size of Mars is 6,794 km. Jupiter is a gas giant,it is the largest and has the biggest moon it also spins the FASTEST. The size of Jupiter is 142,984 km . Jupiter is the fourth brightest object in the sky (after the Sun, the Moon and Venus). It has been known since prehistoric times as a bright "wandering star". Because Pluto's orbit is so eccentric, it sometimes crosses the orbit of Neptune making Neptune the most distant planet from the Sun for a few years. The size of Neptune is 49,532 km Like Uranus , Neptune's rings are very dark but their composition is unknown. Pluto's orbit is highly eccentric. At times it is closer to the Sun than Neptune (as it was from January 1979 thru February 11 1999). Pluto rotates in the opposite direction from most of the other planets. The size of Pluto is 2274 km. Like Uranus, the plane of Pluto's equator is at almost right angles to the plane of its orbit. The Unknown Dwarf Planets THERE ARE 16 DWARF PLANETS!! QUESTIONS! 1.What is the Milky Way? 2.Does Earth rotate the same way as our moon? 4.What planet has the lowest surface in our Solar System? ANSWERS! 1.What is the Milky Way? Well, it is the name of the barred spiral galaxy in which our solar system is located. 2.Does Earth rotate the same way as our moons?Yes Why do some planets have rings?have stronger gravitational pull. 3. 4.What planet has lowest in our Solar System?Pluto It's a Ball of Iron. It is the same size as earth, but spin the other way and spins slowley. Venus has NO WATER it is a really dry planet. Venus has been known since prehistoric times. It is the brightest Planet sky except for the Sun and the Moons. WE ALL LIVE THERE!!! It is the rockeyst planet. Saturn's rings are made of ICE. Saturn's biggest moon is called TITAN. The size of Saturn is 120,536 km Uranus also is a gas giant just like Jupiter and Saturn,It is the coldest planet in the Solar System. It has rings made of dust. The size of Uranus is 25,559 km Neptune is the furthest from the sun! Neptune has lots of storms. Pluto was discoverd that it was to far small for the solar system and they said it's a dwarf planet 3.Why do some planets have rings? The Sun! SPACE EXPLORATION! 1.What astronauts?Astronauts are spacecrafts who discover other planets. 2.What are Meteoroids?Meteoroids are space rocks that looks like a shooting STAR. 3.Who was the first men to land on our moon?Neil Armstrong. 4.what was the first planet discoverd?Earth. 5.why is there only one planet we live on?Because the Earth is the only planet that has land, sea and life. 6.Why is the sun considered as a star? It is a huge ball of hot gases undergoing constant nuclear reactions, and releasing gigantic amounts of light, heat and various particles. The Sun is a giant burning ball of fire. Shooting Stars! Shooting stars are actually meteorites falling to Earth. Most of the stars you view from the earth at night are actually binary stars. Binary stars are two stars that circle each other creating an imagined point of gravitation, or a smaller star circles around the “main star”. The interior of Mars is known only by inference from data about the surface and the bulk statistics of the planet. All life on Earth depend on the sun to survive. Stars can also make different kind of shapes in the sky! QUESTIONS! 1.What is The Milky Way? Space is a really WONDERFUL place to EXPLORE there is INTERESTING planets and also you can discover interesting stuff!. SENTENCE! When you look at the night sky you can see many beautiful stars. If you are out in the country or camping in the mountains or the desert away from the city lights, you may see thousands of them. CRATERS Craters There are all different types of craters. E.G
Big
Small
Round
Oval
Smooth
Rough
Deep
Shallow
Rocky
Our moon has nearly been covered with lots of BIG AND SMALL craters!! There are trillions of other stars in the universe just like it. Many of these stars have their own systems of planets, moons, asteroids, and comets.
