What is a Gene?
Transcript of What is a Gene?
Any of a class of nitrogenous organic compounds that consist of large molecules composed of one or more long chains of amino acids that are an essential part of living organisms.
What is a dominant gene?
A gene that is dominant and the gene that shows the most in an organism.
Where do you find genes?
You can find genes in your cells.
What is a recessive gene?
Recessive genes are traits that you are inherited from parents but they are less common.
What traits can be determined by genes?
Traits are determined by probability of number of genes from parents, and if it is dominate or recessive. Traits like eye color, hair color, are determined by genes.
What is a Gene?
What is an intron?
A segment of DNA or RNA molecule that does not code for proteins and interrupts the sequence of genes.
What is an exon?
Any part of a gene that will become a part of a final part mature RNA produces by the gene after introns have been removes by RNA splicing.
What are genes
A gene is the basic physical and functional unit of heredity. Genes, which are made up of DNA, act as instructions to make molecules called proteins.
What do genes do?
Genes tell your body how to make all its proteins.
