WORLD WAR II World War II resulted in more loss of life
and material destruction than any other
war in recorded human history. The United
States and the soviet Union emerged from
World War 2 as global superpowers and
military competition known as the cold War.
Defeat of Germany and Japan 1942-1945.
United States enters WW2. Australia had many involvements in the World War II such as supporting Britain and declaring war on Germany. Australian servicemen fought in the war against Germany and Italy in Europe, the Mediterranean and North Africa, and against Japan in south-east Asia and in other parts of the Pacific.
