Inferring Emotions The book report I did is called The Lost Hero and the author of this book is Rick Riordan . Rick Riordan is the author of the New York Times #1 best-selling, The Kane Chronicles, Book One: The Red Pyramid, as well as all the books in the New York Times #1 best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympian series- The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters; The Titans Curse; The Battle of Labyrinth; and the last Olympian. His previous novels for adults include the hugely popular Tres Navarre series, winner of the top tree awards in the mystery genre. He lives in San Antonio, Texas, with his wife and two sons. Introduction The Lost Hero is a story a about 3 kids named Jason, Piper, Leo who are children of greek gods. Jason is the son of Zeus - the greek god of the sky and the king of gods, Jason has the power of lightning of and wind. Piper is the child of Aphrodite -the greek goddess of love and beauty, Piper has the power of charm speak. Leo is the child of Hephaestus - the greek of god of fire and crafts and of blacksmiths, Leo has the power of fire and building stuff. This book is funny and interesting and it makes you want to read the next series. The genre of this book is action because it has some fighting in it. Inferring The Mood One part of the story that set an emotion was when Piper was trying to get Jason and Leo out of a trance. This women named Medea put Jason and Leo in this trance because she wanted them dead. I inferred that Piper would be scared or upset because she is alone and she has no one that can help her get her friends back from out of the trance. My inference was right because on page 312 it states Piper had never felt helpless. Now she understood what real sorcery looked like.Another part of the book that sets a mood is when Jason, Piper and Leo were at a mansion and a guy named Midas lived there he has the power of gold, Midas wanted to keep Jason, Piper and Leo but he only got to turn Piper and Leo into gold. Jason had to fight against him , the emotion I think Jason would be feeling would be freaked out because he didn't have his friends to help him fight Midas. My inference was correct because on page 357 it states Jason was so horrified he couldn't move. His friends -just gone. And he hadn't been able to stop it. By: Joshua Oommen About The Book Inferring The Book The three things I inferred about this book is the three kids are children of greek gods, there is going to be a lost hero , and they find a dragon. My first inference of the three kids having parents that are greek gods, this information is found in the book chapter 3 on page 33 when Jason heard the word half-blood he described it as "half-god and half-mortal", Jason, Piper and Leo soon after realized that they parents are greek gods. My second inference of the lost hero, this information is true because in the story Jason is a hero but he has lost his memory so that's why i guess the story is called "Lost Hero". My last inference that they find a dragon is true because in the story Leo found the dragon chapter 12 on page 148, the dragon was out of control but after Leo managed to control it, Jason, Piper and Leo later used the dragon for their quest. The two places that i think that sets a mood is when Piper and Jason were alone in a factory and they heard a sound and Jason said he would go look what it is and never came back. I think Piper would have been terrified that time because she was alone in a factory with no one to protect her. I found this information in the book chapter 22 on page 246 it states " I'll be fine". She felt terrified but she didn't want to admit it. The second place that sets a mood is when Jason, Piper and Leo met the god of north winds and they went into his palace and they saw how it looked. The place was filled with ice and there were ice that were shaped like sharp teeth of a monster, I think they would have been scared or afraid because of how the palace looked like. I found this information in the book chapter 18 on page 203 it states " this cannot be good" Jason muttered. Conclusion The Lost Hero is great book I really enjoyed it. Rick Riordan did good job writing this story, when you read this you'll probably learn something new about Greeks. The book was is an action, mystery and romance, I think people would love this book because of these genres. The series of The Heros Of Olympus is a good book to read because it is the same genre of Percy Jackson group, has fresh ideas, more mystery and magic and keeps the reader engrossed from start to finish.
