Geographical Analysis

Romania is split into 3 types of areas: Mountains, hills and plains. As a result the amount of arable land is greatly reduced due to poor soil quality in mountains and hills. This results in the import of agricultural products.

Mountains also make travel from the south western part of the country to the north western part rather difficult by car, and as a result trains are one of the more common methods of transport, turning transportation into a large industry.

The mountains also make great tourist attractions due to scenes such as the one to the right. Tourism accounts for a larg industry and as a result much of the money in Romania is collected from tourism
