need a little extra support to have a successful week at camp
It is very important to know what we are not DSWs or PSWs. Our 1:1 staff have experience with kids who have special needs and want to help them succeed at camp. Kids with ADD/ADHD, OCD, Tourettes, Down Syndrome, etc.
We are happy to do a home visit with families before camp!
Other camps that can support more special needs than we can:
Kennebec, Kodiak, Kirk, Winston

Members of the McGovern community come from all walks of life. We are from many countries and speak many languages. We practice faiths in ways that you may be unfamiliar with, and that many of us would love to share. We are all shades of “skin tone” and we are all genders – including transgender. We have boyfriends, girlfriends, and partners. If you are uncomfortable with any of this, or if this will interfere with your ability to perform your duties, we respectfully request that you choose somewhere else to work. We are McGovern, and we’re in this together.
'WE ARE' STATEMENT
