Hazel Lancaster was diagnosed with Stage 4 Thyroid Cancer and Metastasis in her lungs at the age of 13 and has survived thanks to an experimental drug called Phalanxifor. Hazel's parents start making her go to a support group where she meets Isaac and Augustus Waters. Isaac is in the group because he lost vision in his one eye at a young age due to cancer and learns he must have the other one removed. Augustus is in the group because he lost his right leg to osteosarcoma. Hazel and Gus soon start fall for each other. Eventually, Gus learns of Hazel's favorite author, Peter Van Houten, and they go on a journey to find him. On this journey they find out some heartbreaking news and must learn how to cope with the events that soon follow.

a nickname
Those who enjoy young adult books with factors such as romance, tragedy, and witty humor, then I would definitely recommend this book.
"The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves."
"Some infinities are bigger than other infinities."
"That's the thing about pain, it demands to be felt."
"You gave me a forever within the numbered days."
"You say you're not special because the world doesn't know about you, but that's and insult to me. I know about you."
"The marks humans leave are too often scars."
"You are so busy being you that you have no idea how utterly unprecedented you are."
"It's a metaphor."
It slightly was and wasn't. I expected certain parts of the plot to resolve like they did, but I didn't expect the ending itself.
