What are brand guidelines?
Brand guidelines are a set of rules that explain how your brand words - consequently they are essential to consider. They provide consistent advertising for the brand or artist, allowing the audience to recognise and identify the artist through their continued use of font, logo or sometimes even colour, as these may be repeated in a similar style on each media product produced.
When creating my first draft for my advert, I considered it essential to chose a font suited to my music video. I looked at different fonts that would work best for my genre - I wanted these to be clear and easy to read. It is important to choose a font that I would be able to use on each media product, to keep a consistent theme throughout. Here you can see the fonts I considered and thought worked well with the genre of my music video.

Colours is another essential aspect to consider with regards to my products and consistency - producing recognisable texts. The colour that is selected can make an impact on how the artist is presented and the iconography of the brand, being an essential factor on visual identity. With regards to my music video, I chose to use white to allow the font to stand out from the background and is easy to read. I also think this supports my minimalistic, clean style and allows for a consistent theme throughout.
