Quebec Quebec City This makes an average of 5 people on every square kilometer. However most of the population in Quebec live in the southern half, and the northern half is mostly vast wilderness. Making Quebec the ideal place to travel, many large cities but still many beautiful natural features. Quebec as a province is situated in a spot in which it is part of two drainage basins. Western and Northern Quebec (area of 1.4 million km squared) is part of the South and East Hudson Bay Drainage region. The other basin covers Montreal area, Southern Quebec (1 million km squared) is part of the Great Lakes-St Lawrence basin. Quebec is located in the south-eastern part of Canada. Quebec City is the capital of Quebec. There is 491 000 people living in Quebec city as of today. About 95% of the population speaks French and the other 5% speaks English. The climate in Quebec is very similar to the climate in Ontario. Depending on where you live in Quebec it can vary in temperature, precipitation, sunshine and length of growing season. The warmest that Quebec gets during the summer months is 33 degrees Celsius, which is very similar to the temperature in Ontario.
