The most common is Li7. It has 92,41% natural abundance. It is stable along with Li6.

History of Lithium
Once upon a time, there was a man named Johan August Arfvedson. The time was 1817, in Sweden, and Arfvedson was in his lab area. Earlier, he had stumbled upon petalite, which is LiAl(Si2O5)2, and now was doing an analysis on the petalite ore. While doing the analysis, he discovered lithium. He had broken the rock into smaller pieces and realized that he had discovered a whole new substance.
He named this substance Lithium. Lithium comes from the Greek word "lithos" which means stone. Since lithium was discovered from a stone, the name techniqually means from a stone.
How do we get lithium today? Today, lithium is recovered from brine pools / lithium mines in Chile, Argentine, USA, and China. The biggest is in Chile. Brine pools use salt evaporation pools to separate the metal from its none element state.
Uses of Lithium
Rechargeable lithium ion batteries: These batteries have similar revolutionized consumers to computers and cell phones cause them to have high energy density
Aircraft parts: The metal is used as an alloy with Al, Cu, Mg, and Cd.
Medicine/drug: One of the ways is through lithium carbonate which is used to treat manic depression (bipolar disorder) and/or schizophrenia. This medication can take form in tablets, casules, or liquid. In other words, it is a mood-stabilizing drug.
Glass Lenses: Lithium is used the product of glass for glass lenses for glasses, telescopes,a nmd more.
