Libya Oficially known as Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya Libya has an area of 694,984 sq mi, Libya is the fourth largest country in Africa by size It is the only national flag in the world with just one color and no design, insignia, or other details Coat of arms Arabic as the only official language, and

even the use of the Berber language On November 21, 1949, the UN passed a resolution stating that Libya should become independent before January 1, 1952. On December 24, 1951, Libya declared its independence as the United Kingdom of Libya as a constitutional and hereditary monarchy. Highest unemployment in the region at 21% GDP per capita: $14,435.53, one of the higest in Africa Freedom House rated political rights in Libya as "7"
