Family Relationships Charybdis is the Greek Goddess of of gigantic whirlpool . Her symbol is a whirlpool because that is the image she produced in the ocean . Charybdis Charybdis was a beautiful sea-nymph at first . When she started flooding the land to bring greater glory to her fathers ( Poseidon ) kingdom . Zeus was enraged and turned Charybdis into a raging sea monster. Background Story Association with other mythological creatures Powers and Responsibilities Everyday Charybdis would suck the water of the ocean and spew it back our again.Charybdis and Scylla shared the responsibility sinking ships and eating men. Charybdis had a very intriguing family.Her father was Poseidon god of the sea,floods,droughts, rivers,earthquakes, and horses . Her mother was was Gaea known as the ''Mother of all". Monday ,Dec.17 Charybdis the Greek Goddess "The Odyssey" Charybdis had the most association with Scylla. They were known as the to islands between Italy and Sicily. They would trap sailors and trick them into running into each of them .
