Melbourne is located in the south-eastern part of mainland Australia, within the state of Victoria. It holds many activities with endless entertainment.
Melbourne Cricket Ground
Melbourne is proudly known for its sporting entertainment. It may not be known as the greatest sporting arena in the world but people from all over Australia, and indeed all over the world, speak reverently about the MCG, a ground that is as well known as any other and has a very long history of australian sport. In 1956 The MCG held the Olympic games and also the Common wealth games in 2006.
The MCG has held many different sporting matches including Cricket, AFL, Rugby, Soccer and many more.
The MCG has held more than sport, it has also staged many concerts including Michael Jackson, Madonna and many more block famous artists from around the globe.
Eureka sky deck
As of May 2013 the Eureka tower the 12th tallest residential building in the world and when completed it was the tallest building in the world, standing at 297.3-metres tall with 91 storeys above ground plus one basement level.
The gold rush was incorporated into the design of the building, the gold crown representing the gold rush and the red stripe representing the blood spill during the revolt, the blue glass and white stripes running across the building represent the Eureka stockade's flag.
Royal Botanical Gardens
The Royal Botanical Gardens are located near the centre of Melbourne, on the south bank of the Yarra River.
They are widely known as the finest botanical gardens in Australia, and among some of the best in the world.
The gardens extend over 36 hectares and display a diverse collection of over 50,000 plants from around the world, including rare and threatened species. The Royal Botanic Gardens hosts year-round events, picnics, weddings and tours.
The Royal Botanic Gardens are one of Victoria’s most popular tourist attractions, with over 1.5 million visitors each year.
The design of the aquarium resembles a ship moored to the river. The aquarium has interactive animal encounters, iconic art displays, animal feeds, diver presentations and much more.
The State Library of Victoria is the central library of the state of Victoria and holds over 2 million books and 16,000 serials, which include the diaries of the city's founders, John Batman and John Fawkner, and the folios of Captain James Cook. It also houses the original armour of Ned Kelly.

Scienceworks is a world renowned science museum in Melbourne and is a venue of Museum Victoria which administers the cultural and scientific collections of the State of Victoria. Science works displays and activities offered by the museum include hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and tours. The "lightning room" is a 120-seat auditorium that presents demonstrations about electricity.
