To partner with the Faith Based Community to achieve/ realize zero gang related homicides in San Jose
To proactively establish a relationship between the Faith Based Community and the Mayor's Gang Prevention Task Force to create community awareness of resources and foster hope

Create "Faith Walks" modeled after "Night Walks"
Develop a faith based driven/ coordinated volunteer mechanism: "Beautiful Day"
Include the faith based resources in community crisis response: "Community Chaplains"
9 Chaplains have been identified to provide compassion, aftercare, and services to gang impacted families/ individuals and assist residents in times of crisis and trauma
VMC "Trauma to Triumph"
Beautiful Day took place on April 27, 2013
Projects took place in 9/10 Council Districts with over 6,000 volunteer service opportunities
Establish a protocol/ system to share facilities
Purpose: to build a network of faith institutions that work in partnership with the MGPTF and serve as a community space in times of crisis
With the help of Neighborhood Empowerment Strike Team, 4 institutions have signed MOUs with the City:
South Bay Islamic Association
International Christian Center
East Valley Pentacostal Church
Emaus Church (Sunrise Bible)
Salinas Night Walks
Other Faith Community Involvement
