When is tornado season?




What does a tornado look like? The National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) researches tornadoes to help scientists understand and predict their appearances. Tornadoes are rated on the Enhanced Fujita scale from an EF0 (wind speeds up to 85 mph) to an EF5 (wind speeds above 200mph).
Fujita is the name of the original scale's creator.
Tornadoes are capable of incredible damage with wind speeds in excess of 250 mph.
The path of a tornado's damage can be greater than 1 mile wide and 50 miles long.
On average, there are 800-1,000 tornadoes per year in the U.S. Most happen in the spring and summer and can occur anywhere in the U.S. Understanding word origins can help you determine the meanings of difficult and unfamiliar words. Coordinating conjunctions join words or groups of words that have equal importance in a sentence.

WHEN is an example of a subordinating conjunction. Subordinating conjunctions connect two clauses where one clause is grammatically dependent on the other. Common subordinating conjunctions include: after, although, before, if, when, and while. Write 2 sentences, one using a coordinating conjunction and the other using a subordinating conjunction. Author's Purpose. What are the 3 purposes why authors write a piece of text? Please get out your writing notebook. Bring it, your Imagine It Student Reader, and a pencil down to the carpet. As you read, you need to be aware of your speed. Especially when reading aloud, the tendency is to read too quickly. It is important for you to read slowly, to listen, and to understand the meaning of teh text. By monitoring your understanding, students can adjest their reading speed accordingly.
