Transcript of Civic Mirror
- Poverty refers to a lack of money
in order to provide for their basic
necessities for life.
Problems with Poverty
How has civic mirror
helped us understand law government and society
-laws that are implaced to defend/appose the guilty
-laws are put into place in order to govern society
-laws help prevent citizens from committing wrongful acts or they will face consequences
-laws can be manipulated by the fine print
You understand how citizens behave in society; and how you should act accordingly. This shows how parties/government manipulate the society to sell you towards their proposals and then this determines whether or not the needs of the people are going to be met.
Poverty the main issue of Civic Mirror
In result of a rich majorty....
-higher prices on basic needs
this poses a problem
because minority isn't able to afford high priced hexes/units
impoverished aren't able to afford land which results in no income and eventually death.
This is a disadvantage because though they are possibly spending on as much basic needs they lack income to provide for themselves onward
the impoverished get overlooked for their issues in a rich majority
many times those who are rich ignore
problems of minorty; simply because they
dont face the same issues.
-not everyone gets what they want
-Government ignores impoverished
-Though the governments makes decisions beneficial to the island; some citizen may find it not reasonable
-society is composed of many elements...
- The higher status citizens prosper while lower
status individuals can't
-citizens are protective of their property; those who
didn't decide to buy during auction we pretty much
prevented from purchasing to find income
Why are we then so blind?
Looking at the numbers we clearly know there
is a GLOBAL ISSUE; then what are we waiting for?
We are the ones to make the change? but where do we start? The heart of it all...
This shows that nearly half
the children in the world are living in poverty
This is an indication of how Africa
isn't getting a lot good medication
we have to answer one ultimate question
Why are people in Africa impoverished?
-can not afford education/no education
-no employment/child labor for
long hours and barely any pay
-cant afford medication; result
Global issue in
high priced food
-education and such
Health care is well
expensive health care
/no good medication
available most of the
shelter; due to
lack of money
Income can come
from child labor
-In order to make an
income you need to
There was nothing done; no welfare given; There was a point when the government stated "Thats your problem, not ours"
help/educate them on ways to find income
NO ONE wants to be impoverished.................
When you realize what people go through:
-Not take anything for granted
-Sacrifice time and Help
no access to clean water/food
Civic Mirror is a preview of the real world but in confined terms
children from the developing world, there are:
without adequate shelter (1 in 3)
with no access to safe water (1 in 5)
with no access to health services (1 in 7)
CIVIC MIRROR'S MAIN GOALS:
To teach us how the government, economy and our
civic system interact with each other
To teach us how real life works
Have fun while learning!
MAKING OUR COUNTRY A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE
-make prices for items lower
Each and every vote
The less fortunate are also part of
our community and should not
Laws should be strictly followed
Not overlook the impoverished
vote for a party that best represents your beliefs and opinions
If everyone in a country abides by
the rules, that country
can be very successful
know what your rights and responsibilities are
and be informed of what your
are entitled to
and what is expected of you.
Helping each other (in reality);example volunteering
to help rather than ignoring the issue
This facility was simply not distributed equally amongst the citizens of YOLO island
In order to protect the environment government put a price on cutting trees to make anything else of it. This was profitable for the government but not for the owners of the property.
This very basic and significant necessity of life was priced very high and the less fortunate could not afford to buy it.
Many citizens in YOLO island lost loved ones
due to security which wasn't available to them.
Be an informed citizen
