The unique pattern on the happy face spiders back is two circles representing eyes and a curve shape representing a smile.The thing that makes the pattern unique is that it gets its whole name from the pattern on its back, and in the happy face spider article on paragraph 2 and line 1 it states,"The happy face spiders name comes from the unique pattern found on its pale colored back".
Some scientists believe that the spider came across the strange markings as a way to warn enemies, and in the happy face spider on paragraph 3 and line 1 it states,"Some scientists think the spider may have developed these strange markings as a way to warn predators, such as birds".On the other hand some scientists believe that the markings on its back do nothing to help the spider avoid its enemies, also in the article on paragraph 3 and line 3 it states,"Some believe the features do nothing to help the spider avoid its enemies ".
Living on the undersides of leaves help the spider stay out of the limelight because living on the undersides of leaves is dark so people cant see it by not looking carefully, and in the happy face spider article on paragraph 4 and line 2 it states,"This can make it difficult for scientists to locate and study".
