How Marcel Waves were styled - Using a rectangular shaped gas burner, heat the curling tongs. Create a parting in the hair or start somewhere in the centre of the head and run a comb through the hair, lifting it slightly. Pull from the parting and push upwards to the crown with the curling tongs. Take the comb out of the hair and place it on the other side of the curling tongs and draw the comb through the hair in a downwards movement.
How the Marcel Wave was cared for – During this time, finger waves were also in vogue, however with the Marcel Wave, hot tongs were used to create a wave that lasted much longer. 1930’s – Marcel Waves
