Cell Theory:

All living things are made up of cells.

The cell is the basic unit of life.

Cells come from pre-existing cells.

Characteristics of Life
Living things take in material for energy
Energy is needed for daily activity
Growth and Development
Humans and animals grow and develop.
Plants grow and develop too!
Stimuli
Homeostasis
Living things reproduce to produce new organisms.
Living things reproduce to pass on traits to their offspring.
Living things maintain a stable internal environment = balance
Living things respond to their environment.
Taken as a group, living things evolve over time.
Living things evolve to adapt to the environment.
evolve = change = adapt
50% of your DNA comes from your mom and the other 50% comes from your dad.
