Salted with Fire
Preserved by Purification
Everyone = the lost
Everyone = everyone
Everyone = the Disciples
“You shall season all your grain offerings with salt. . .”
salt = being preserved
“For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.”
1 Peter 4:12
“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you “
“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.”

Be at Peace
This influence of a radical converting commitment to the glory of God instead of the glory of self powerfully salts the lost around us.
The influence of a transformed by the power of God life manifests the power of Christ to a decaying world.
God's highest value is the sacrificial service of the least.
Christ perfectly shows this in His loving sacrifice for us.
So . . . sacrificially serve the least among you instead of longing to be great.
God's Kingdom work is both broader and more powerful than we see or understand.
We grasp this by remembering that Christ is rescuing for Himself a people of every tribe, tongue, and nation.
So . . . be gracious to His other servants and have His Kingdom as your goal instead of your kingdom.
God's servants are radical followers here in the temporal because of an eye on the eternal.
We see this best in the life of Christ, leaving Heaven, living a life of suffering service, and doing so for the joy set before Him.
So . . . we must forsake all out of a heart of gratitude and great anticipation.
God is actively purifying His servants for effective ministry for His glory.
We see this in Christ being tempted and learning obedience through His suffering.
So . . . recognize trials as fire that preserves, purifies, and strengthens.
God uses weak vessels who live sacrificially, suffer dependently, and love radically to show His glory.
Christ shows us that true servants are driven by an agenda for the glory of God that results in a deep love for both God and others.
So . . . show forth Christlikeness by being sanctified and being at peace with others.
