What is vision?
the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom
Bless the past
move into the future
Don't shame the past

Celebrate it! Remember it!
Move where God is leading!!!
the act or power of seeing
the act or power of imagination
b (1) : mode of seeing or conceiving (2) : unusual discernment or foresight a person of vision

Blurred vision is defined as the loss of sharpness of vision and the inability to see fine details. Blurry vision can affect both eyes, but it’s not uncommon for it to only affect one eye. There are many causes of blurry vision and as such, there are various treatment options depending on the cause.

Various Visions
(in conflict)
reach the community with the message of God's love
join in worship led by the spirit of God
embrace dramatic change and sacrifice for the execution of the Great Commission
Bible is final authority "Everything else is up for grabs!"
Churches need a vision in writing. It needs to be on the forefront of the members and leaders' minds. It will guide and direct all of the ministry efforts of the church.
It must be biblical at the core
singular vision from a leader will waiver and fail
it must be God's vision, not ours.
only when we seek God for insights will God provide the vision for us to fulfill God's purpose.
The church must innovate and try new things!
The world is changing and will not travel to the past to meet the church where it is, we have the task of meeting people where they are. (2018 not the 1950's!)
Experience: When we try new things often we realize that we have set things in stone that are standing in the way of transformation!
Leaders and key influencers must be on the same page
Nothing can kill a vision faster than division
Remember the vision is not personal it is biblical
Measure everything we do by asking the question, "Does this support the vision God has given our church?"
Remind and review...often!
What happens to our resolutions midway through the year?
Spend time in teaching, preaching and prayer groups refreshing and reminding each other about the vision of the church. (Williamson)
Vision must fit the shape of every ministry at every age level
Leads to a strong and unified church!
Guard the front door
Connect new people with the church by helping them understand and subsequently buy into the vision
Talk about the vision and explain the practical ways the church is seeking to follow the vision (we don't have to discard the investment factor!)
Put the vision over personal preference
God was there. God is also here!
God is at work now!
Don't fail to be in the present...

Do less accomplish more!
Crystal Clear Vision says, "This is the church that we will be!"
Ministries are crafted in response to the needs we identify which help is live into the vision God has revealed to us.
We are also moved to do away with things that are no longer fruitful or fulfilling the vision of the church.
Using the vision as a measurement, we may find ourselves being more efficient and effective in carrying out the mission of the church.
Be specific, concise, and measurable
Evaluation is valuable
How did our execution fulfill the calling of God for our church?
Measuring helps us to celebrate the work that God is doing through us as well as inform us of the need to exert more energy, thought, and effort or to strive harder to fulfill the calling God has placed on the local church.
Holy Zeal gets us to the car.
Urgency gets us in the car...gets the ignition started and the car in drive.
Crystal-clear vision is the GPS or map that shows us where we're going!
visioning: the development of a plan, goal, or vision for the future.
From Zingtrain Business Training: Vision must be...

Inspiring. To all that will be involved in implementing it.
Strategically sound. That is, we actually have a decent shot at making it happen.
Documented. You really need to write your vision down to make it work.
Communicated. Not only do you have to document your vision but if you want it to be effective, you actually have to tell people about it too.

Basic to Basics

Focus is important because it is the gateway to all thinking: perception, memory, learning, reasoning, problem solving, and decision making.
