Americans love pennies and hate to change things. Pennies have always been around and always should. "Americans are traditionalists and the Lincoln Cent is the epitome of modern day circulating coin tradition."

If the penny is eliminated, the poor will have a harder time buying items. The poor make lots of small purchases using pennies. Therefore, the poor will be affected the most.

The Penny Battle
If you still can't decide, I'm sure this will help you to make your decision.

While some want to keep the penny that has been around for so many years, others want to get rid of it. What should we do? Well we want to keep it. "Prices will be rounded up to the nearest nickel, creating a rise in prices across the board" ,if we get rid of it. Not only that but, "pennies can add up and are often a major factor in charity drives." After all, there is hardly any public support as far as votes for getting rid of the penny.
