Catching Fire
By Suzanne Collins

Katniss Everdeen
"We are all going to be
OBLITERATED
anyway."(117)
Obliterate- to remove, destroy all trace of
"I try to backpedal. To
DEFUSE
him as i tried to
defuse the districts." (128)
Defuse- to make less hostile or tense
"Then i get it, what it means. At least for me. District 12 only has three victors to choose from. Two male, one female. I'm going back into the arena." (173)
Vocabulary
"If it attracts somewhat if a criminal element, than I guess I be long there." (11)
Theme
I think the main theme for this book is one small gesture, can change everything.
Plot
By Bonny Brownridge
"A pale pink strapless dress brushes my shoes. My hair is pinned back from my face and falling down my back in a shower of ringlets"(84-85)
"'When your in the chariot, no smiling, no waving. I just want you to look straight ahead, as if the crowd is beneath your notice" "Finally something I'm good at," I say."(249)
Haymitch Abernathy
"So we head back to the dining car, where the others are still at lunch, I give Effie an apology that in think is overkill but in her mind probably just ,manages to compensate for my breach of etiquette." (65)
"Leaves that leaves Haymitch. Drunken, cranky, confrontational Haymitch."(40)
"We have the same Seam look. Dark straight hair, olive skin, grey eyes."(14)
Gale Hawthorne
Effie Trinket
"I think of Haymitch, unmarried, no family, blotting the world out with drinks."(56)
"And he chose solitude. Not solitude- that sounds to peaceful. More like solitary confinement"(56)
"The ground is too bright and shiny and keeps undulating. I squint down at my feet and see the metal plate is surrounded by blue waves that lap up over my boots. Slowly, I raise my eyes and take in the water spreading out in every direction. I can only form one clear thought. This is no place for a girl on fire."(316)
Blood rain, fog, monkeys, Jaberjays, beast, 6-9 unknown, tile wave, beetles and then lightning.
Conclusion
I would recommend this book because it's exciting and it's a very good book. There are two other books in the series. The Hunger Games is the first book, Catching Fire is the second, and Mockingjay is the third and final book in the trilogy.
"The ground is too bright and shiny and keeps

"In several of the, however, people viewed your little trick with the berries as and act of defiance, not an act of love. And if a girl from District Twelve of all places can defy the Capitol and walk away unharmed, what is to stop them from doing the same?" he says. "What is to prevent, say, an uprising?" (25)
"And uprising have been known to lead to revolution." (25)
