Kristian Davis AFRICAN- AMERICANS: -AFRICANS FIRST CAME TO AMERICA AS SLAVES. IT ALL STARTED WHEN A GROUP OF EUROPEANS HAD CAME TO AMERICA TO BUY SOME TOBACCO AND FOR EXCHANGE THEY GAVE THE AMERICANS 20 AFRICANS AS SLAVES. ITALIANS: IMMIGRATION PERCENTS: Italians started to immigrate to the United States in 1850. They had left Italy because birth rates rose, death rates decreased. They also did not want to farm anymore, so instead they went to inner cities. Chinese: The Chinese started to immigrate to America in 1849. Majority of immigrants were miners coming to America,specifically California, becasue of the Gold Rush. Americans were really mad by this, so Congress passed the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1882. The act was finally abolished in 1943. French: French immigration came into play because of exploration of the south. Such as exploring Louisiana. The French came on their own. They started exploring in 1534. Mexicans: Mexicans started coming to the U.S. in the 20th century before all the states were established. its shown that Mexicans were recorded coming to America in 1821. Political Cartoon:
