A simile is a comparison using like or as.A simile is where two things are directly compared because they share a common feature.

How to make a simile
In order to make a simile we must
1.) Determine the subject.Example "Jane" or "Jane's weight"
2.)Describe the subject. Example you describe Jane or Jane's weight as very light.
3.) Compare the subject to another thing similar to the subject.
4.)Use "as" or "like" in comparing the two things.
5.)So the simile for the example could be "Jane is as light as a feather.
A metaphor is a comparison between two unlike things not using the word “like” or “as” to make the comparison. The greater the difference between the two things being compared, the better the metaphor.
1.)Her home was a prison.
2.)John is a real pig when he eats.
3.)My father is a rock.
4.)You are a couch potato.
1.)Anna was as cold as ice.
2.) Daniel's teeth was as sharp as a knife.
3.) Emma was as tall as a giraffe.
How to make a metaphor
1.)Determine the subject . Example "Joshua" or "the way Joshua eats"
2.) Describe the subject. As an example you can describe Joshua by the way he eats , maybe he eats like a pig.
3.)Make the sentence by not using "like" or "as".
4.) Some words you can use are "is" , "was" or "are"
