Transcript of Question 7- Lookin back at the preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?
Looking back at the preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product? In both of these scenes we have used the 180 degree rule. we made sure we didnt cross the halfway line without physically moving the camera. One way in which we improved our 180 degree shot is that we did ours without there being a conversation with two people instead we did the shot in a mirror. This gave it a totally different affct as this sort orf way the 1980 degree was portrayed is totally different. The match on action shot has been improved by a big standard, we brought the camera alot closer than before to the character whos shoulder is being looked over. In doing this we managed to get the whole of Ricos body in. This is a very basic example of a match on action shot its basic because the closer the camera is the better the effect is. Also, as its a thriller film we want to create as mnuch tension as possible. Close up shots were used in both the preliminary and the final product. The close up shots give a totally different effect as its only focusing on one thing and one thing only. A medium shot is used here to show someone has come into the room. The camera is only showing the top half of his body. Medium- close up shots were used on Mr Carlos's face to show emotion, so the audience feelore lured into the film. Overall, our group has made a big improvement, getting used to the camera was the main thing. Knowing when to zoom out at the right time was something we all had difficulties with but in the end it was perfected by myself. In the preliminary task you can see that our timing with the zoom in and zoom out button wasnt good at all. In our first preliminary task we broke the 180 degree rule, we crossed the line without physical moving the camera over, therefore we had to reshoot the preliminary in order to fix the problem. There were more things that went wrong with the final piece and the preliminary, one because we shot outside of school on the final which meant weather was bad a few times we wanted to shoot, we needed permission too shoot in certain places. Another major problem was lighting in the final because we chose to leave around 6 p.m. not realising it was getting late and alot darker.Full transcript
