Overview
Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) partners with Theatre Academy London to offer a three-week immersion in experiencing theatre.
Pictured here is the main entrance to Theatre Academy London, located at 98 Great Russell Street, right in the heart of London's theatre disctrict and a stone's throw from Bloomsbury Square.
Program
Two 3-credit courses: British Dialects (learning historical and cultural influences and performing them) and What's On and What's Hot in London Theatre. No pre-requisites necessary.
Backstage tours of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and Royal National Theatre
Workshops led by British theatre artists
Tour to Shakespeare's birthplace and home of Royal Shakespeare Company, Stratford-upon-Avon
Tours of cultural and historical sights in and beyond London
Aspects of program may be re-designed based on number of participants.
Day trip to Oxford University

Academic Credit
Open to theatre majors and non-majors, undergraduate and graduate students, Miami and non-Miami students. No pre-requisites. Permission of program director required.
Non-majors: Program can count as 1) a Thematic Sequence for students who have completed THE 101/103 or THE 191 or 2) fulfillment of Foundation III, Global Perspectives.
Theatre Majors: Program can fulfill 6 credit hours toward degree in Category A and/or B and satisfy Foundation IIIA, Study Abroad.
Theatre Minors: Program can fulfill 6 credit hours toward degree and satisfy Miami Plan Foundation IIIA, Study Abroad.
There are two main fees: the program fee and the tuition fee.
The program fee is $3,325.
The tuition fee for winter session 2018 for six credit hours is $3,276 for Ohio residents and $5,518 for non-Ohio residents. (London Theatre consists of six credit hours.)
In addition, there is an administrative fee for the application of $175.
Therefore, total estimated fees for Ohio residents are $3,451 and for non-Ohio residents are $5,693.
To secure a spot in the program, students must apply, gain acceptance, and pay a deposit of $1,500 toward the program fee.
The deposit toward the program fee is refundable only in the event of program cancellation. See refund policy to the right.
The deposit for the program fee is due upon acceptance and no later than 9/1/17.
The balance of the program fee is due 10/1/17.
The balance of the program fee is refundable only if the program is canceled. See refund policy to the right.
Students register for courses by 11/15/17.
After students register, the bursar will post the tuition fee in their bursar accounts.
Tuition fee is payable upon posting.

Refunds of program fees will be granted in instances of withdrawal prior to the start of the program under the following circumstances:

--Cancellation of program by International Programs (the third-party provider for London Theatre), including cancellation for insufficient numbers. The program may be cancelled due to insufficient numbers until the final payment date. Whether the program ultimately runs or not has no bearing on individual financial liability of students who cancel their enrollment after the confirmation deposit is due. If International Programs cancels the program for insufficient numbers, any admitted student will not be held fee liable for the deposit.
--Involuntary call to active duty.
--Death of the student or death in the immediate family (parent, legal guardian, spouse, child, or sibling).

Partial refund of program fees may be granted in instances of withdrawal prior to the start of the program under the following circumstances:

--Illness of the student of such duration or severity that it precludes overseas travel. The student will be required to submit all relevant medical records for review and evaluation by Florida State University's Health and Wellness Center. The Health and Wellness Center will advise International Program's refund committee of its recommendation. International Program's refund committee will notify the student of the decision.
--Exceptional circumstances that could not have been foreseen and were beyond the control of the student, as approved by the International Program's refund committee.
----Timely notification in relation to the event that caused the need for withdrawal will be considered in evaluating refund requests. In no instance will a request be considered if it is made after the end of the semester for which the refund is requested.
----Refunds cannot be granted, under any circumstances, in instances of withdrawal after a program has begun.
----Applicants who apply and are accepted after the published due dates remain liable for fees in accordance with the published due dates.
----All requests for withdrawals, requests for refunds, and requests for release from fee liability must be submitted in writing via email to administrative.cancellation@admin.fsu.edu.
