Moving On From A Loved One

25 Words To Describe The Fault In Our Stars:
Questions About The Fault In Our Stars
This book is about a girl named Hazel Grace who is diagnosed with cancer who ended up meeting an attractive boy in her support group. His name is Augustus and they began to tell everything about each other. Hazel shared with him about her favorite book; An Imperial Affliction and they tried to solve this book with no ending. Augustus contacted the author who said he'd meet with her in Amsterdam to discuss it. In the meantime, Augustus and Hazel's good friend Isaac is losing his eye so that he can be cancer-free at long last. In the time, he also loses his girlfriend Monica, who can't deal with having a blind boyfriend. Meanwhile, Augustus surprises Hazel by telling her that he still has his wish he received when he was dying of cancer and lost his leg, and he'd happily use it to take her to Amsterdam to meet Peter Van Houten, the author of her favorite book. They manage to get their trip in order and take off to Amsterdam and have beautiful and romantic times, but when they meet Peter Van Houten, it doesn't exactly go as planned. He's changed and not what they imagined. Later, Augustus received the news his cancer has returned. When they return to Indianapolis, it's clear that Augustus's health is deteriorating and he might not have much time left in his life. This left Hazel heartbroken and sadly, Hazel died. At the funeral, she's shocked to see that Peter Van Houten is there. He had a daughter who died of cancer. She also learned from Isaac that Augustus was writing something for her before he died. She decides to go on a search for what he had wrote. At the very end, she learns that Augustus wrote her a eulogy that he sent to Van Houten. The book ends with her reading the eulogy, which states that he hopes that she's happy with the choices she made.
At the end of the book Hazel is forced to live with the death of

Augustus. She feels that she had nothing more and no chance to

have a soul mate to do everything with. Hazel forced herself to

have a tough personality and be there to support Augustus's

family, even though she is depressed and feels that she lost the

love of her life.
Five Quotes By John Green In The Fault In Our Stars:
1. "I will not tell you our love story, because like all real love stories, it will die with us, as it should."
2. "I fell in love the way you fall asleep; slowly, and then all at once."
3. "I'd always thought the world was a wish granting factory."
4. "That's the thing about pain, it demands to be felt."
5. "The marks humans leave are too often scars."
Connections
This book is a very moving story. It has such a deep meaning to it. It may of been a book but so many situations and parts of this book happen in everyday life for some people. It reminds me how I hear and read about so many people who suffer from, pass away, or are getting over cancer. Like my oldest brothers girlfriend. She had cancer before, but by being strong and not giving up on anything she overcame it and it went away by getting treatments. I see in the newspaper all those people who have such rare diseases that aren't always cancer, and how they have to learn to live with it and conquer it. Many people have lost their loved ones, friends, and family due to such horrible problems like this. I relate this to the book because 'The Fault In Our Stars," shows that you shouldn't stop living your life and let anything get inbetween that. Anyone can get around obstacles in their life.

Hazel, Augestus, and Isaac
The Struggles In Life And With Cancer
This book strongly explains the battles with cancer and now people have to live with it. The three main characters in the book all struggle with cancer. Isaac struggles with his eye cancer, Hazel deals with her lung cancer that shows no signs of improvement, and Augustus struggles with his cancer returning in his legs. These friends don't let cancer stop them from living their lives. Throughout the treatments the friends support each other and care for them in their time of need. It shows how strong their friendship is and how important it can be.

How would of Hazel and Augustus's lives be impacted if they didnt meet?
How would of Augustus reacted if Hazel were to be the on thats cancer returned?
Why was the author or Hazel's favorite book completely different? Why was he consistently drunk?
If cancer weren't a huge part of this book, how much would it of changed?
Augustus and Hazel have an amazing love story. They brought out the best in each other. Augusts showed Hazel that there is more to life than staying at home at letting the cancer consume you. Hazel brought the light back into Augustus's life when he was getting over cancer. It didn't take long for these to friends to fall in love. Together they are unbreakable and didn't let anything bring them down. In the story Hazel and Augustus went through complicated situations. Augstus had to battle with his cancer returing. In each of these situations the two lovers were sitting by each others side every step of the way.
