Erwin Rudolf Josef Alexander Schrödinger
Education and Careers
He attended the University of Vienna from 1906-1910. Out of college he worked a research job at the university's Second Physics Institute.

He worked in the military for a brief period of time during World War 1. Then he continued his career at the University of Zurich in 1921, and worked there for 6 years.

He continued his work at the University of Berlin, but left in 1933 due to the rise of Adolf Hitler
Nobel Prize
At 39 he produced papers that laid a foundation for quantum wave mechanics in which he built on the ideas of Newton, and made a new equation.

In 1924 he introduced a new theory of the waves and created a new equation, now known as the Schrödinger equation.

He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1933 for Physics and shared the award with another quantum physicist, Paul A.M. Dirac.
Schrödinger’s Cat
A cat is placed in a steel box along with a Geiger counter, a vial of poison, a hammer, and a radioactive substance.
When the radioactive substance decays, the Geiger detects it and triggers the hammer to release the poison, which subsequently kills the cat, but the radioactive decay is a random process, and there is no way to predict when it will happen.
Until the box is opened, an observer doesn't know whether the cat is alive or dead—because the cat's fate is intrinsically tied to whether or not the atom has decayed and the cat would, as Schrödinger put it, be "living and dead ... in equal parts" until it is observed.

Erwin Schrodinger was born on August 12,1887 in Vienna,Austria. and died January 4,1961

He was a very talented man who stands out because of his intellectual versatility. His interests dealt heavily with chemistry, but also included Italian painting, botany, and German poetry.
