Journey To.... Iceland Because Iceland is an island their main source meat is seafood. They also have lamb, reindeer, and puffin. Seafood includes: cod, haddock, herring, salmon, lobster, shrimp, shark, monkfish, and even specialties like minke whale. Monkfish Minke whale Puffin -Potato

Fish Soup

Bread Soup Fennel has a very distinct flavor of black licorice. Iceland has only one native spice I could find: Native Dishes: Fish Pate ` ground fish in shrimp sauce with a heavy cram Rotten Shark meat They'll find a shark on the beach or floating in the water, and cook it up. Beverages Icelanders also refer to it as the black death because the unsweetened schnapps has a heavy black licorice taste caused by the fennel in the drink. Appselsin is a fruity soda, and is populary combined with Malt (a dark and sweet beverage that is considered nutritious and good for upset stomachs).
When these two are combined they are called bland. Most of their spices and other food products comes from trading with these areas. Mean While back in Wisconsin! Fennel What they call "bláber", or "blueberries" in Iceland are actually bilberries. Either bilberries or blueberries can be used in this recipe. Drop the berries into boiling water and cook on low until they burst, 3-5 minutes.
Mix together potato starch/cornflour and cold water.
Add sugar to the soup and stir until melted.
Thicken with potato starch/cornflour mix. Serve and enjoy.
-Use more thickening mixture to make a blueberry pudding. Pour into a bowl before it stiffens and sprinkle sugar on top. Serve warm or cold with milk or cream (or half and half). 250 gr. blueberries/bilberries

30 gr. potato starch/cornflour
