Grew up in a one bedroom in the Southside of Chicago.
Her father Fraser Robinson was a pump operator for the Chicago Water Department. Her mother was a stay at home mom.
She also grew up in a close knit family that read, had meals together and played games.
In the 6th grade Michelle was in the gifted classes. Michelle La Vaughn Robinson was born on January 17, 1964 in Chicago, Illonis. In 1989, Barack Obama began working with her as her summer intern to whom she was assigned as an adviser. Initially Michelle refused to go on a date with Barack because she thought their work relationship would make romance improper. Michelle's Relationship with Barack & her Career After two years of dating, Michelle and Barack got married.
The couple married on October 3rd 1992. She served as assistant commissioner of planning and development in Chicago's City Hall.

Michelle Obama is though to be "mean" and "arrogant" Michelle decided her true calling was working with people to serve their communities and their neighbors. In the book, " The Obamas" author Jodi Kantor deems Michelle as an "Angry Black Woman".
