Speech is the major means of communication between people. During Test-to-speech, the (TTS) system converts normal language text into artificial human speech. This module has opened a world of opportunities for the disabled such as Astro-Physician

PURPOSE
The purpose of this project is to make synthesized speech as intelligible, natural and pleasant to listen, as human speech through the use of Matlab.
TEXT PRE-PROCESSING
1.Text to phonetic conversion.

2.Finding correct pronunciation for different contexts in the text.
Prosody
This involves finding the correct intonation, stress and duration of a written text.
CONCATENATION
This is the stringing together of segments of words to form speech.

This project was successful in using MATLAB to convert the input text into synthesized speech. The output speech was similar to human speech and has the ability to be understood by the listener.

Both the Spectrograms i.e Girl (figure 1) and Girl (figure 2) are compared and similarities are found. This shows that The concatenated sound is much closer to the original.
