Transcript of Valve
started playing they already said that it is an instant classic the game plays like like a single player first person puzzle platform based gamed. 4 years later Valve released the sequel Portal 2 which also became an instant Classic. So what is so good about this company? Want to have a company without a boss? Want to go on a vacation with all your colleagues? Ever wanted to move somewhere else in the office because you were getting bored where you are? Valve has been boss free since the company first started. The reason behind this was to make each person to be creative in their own ways. Every couple years Valve goes on a company trip. In 2012 they went to Hawaii for their 10th company vacation with 293 employees and 185 children. Valve does this to allow the employees to relax and get to know each other away from work and spend time with their families. Valve has a large office which allows employees to move freely from one work space area to another work space area. This helps employees to get to know each other and experience a new surrounding. Want to choose what project to work on without getting approval? Valve works on multiple games and projects at once. Which means the employee can work on any game or project that they are interested in. Valve believes if an employee can choose a project they want work on they will be more productive. Ever made a mistake and got fired for it? Nobody has ever been fired from Valve for making a mistake. Valve said "it wouldn't make sense for us to operate that way. Providing the freedom to fail is an important trait of the company". If you make a mistake you will learn from your mistake and be a better employee for it.
