Triangular trade
Triangular trade is the system of trade from Europe, Africa and the New World. It is called triangular trade because the the trade routes formed a triangle. Africa shipped slaves to the New World, the New World used the slaves to farm. Then those crops were shipped back to Europe, which used them. Then Europe shipped goods to Africa and the New World, thus continuing the trade cycle.
Enlightenment thinking
In the early days of the American colonies, it was evident that a government must be established. After revolting against their monarchs, the colonies united and formed the constitution. They were now a democracy. It took many years to perfect the system and work out the major kinks and flaw, and although it still isn't perfect, it is still the system we use today.
