Transcript of The Nazca Lines

The Nazca
Lines Peruvian archaeologist Toribo Mejia Xesspe
discovered the lines while hiking in the hills of the
peruvian mountains in 1927. Scientists think that
these lines were made between 200-600 A.D.
Still remaining mysterious is how they built the
lines. We believe, that they drew designs, enlarged
them on a grid, and were carved by workers into
the sand. The shape The Discovery Preservation If you want to find more good nazca lines

Bibliography Some people may wonder how the
Nazca lines stayed in formation over
the years. The answer is that their
surroundings are full of rocks and
hardly gets any rain, causing it to be
dry with hardly any wind.
The Nazca Lines are big lines forming creatures and shapes in the ground,
but no one knows who made them. Some scientists think that the lines
could have been paths to bodies of water. Others think that
they were ceremonial grounds. Further in this presentation,
you will learn and be facinated by the Nazca Lines. Another one? In 2006, Japanese
Researchers found a
undiscovered figure.
It resembled an animal with horns that was thought to have been
used for rituals. The shapes of the Nazca
Lines were classified as two
different types. One was
the Biomorphs, the other,
Geoglyphs. Biomorphs are the figures that represent
plants and animals. Some examples of
Biomorphs are spiders, monkeys,
hummingbirds, and pelicans.Scientists
believe that Biomorphs were made 500
years before the Geoglyphs. Biomorphs Geoglyphs Geoglyphs are enormous geometric
forms representing lines, triangles,
spirals and other shapes.
Location The Nazca Lines are
located in the Peruvian
desert between Inca
and Nazca Valleys. Creation The lines were apparently
created by brushing away
the redish pebbles that
had covered the desert
surface. The lines of Nazca The newest discovered figure was about
210 feet lond and most resembles a lobster.
Since the shape was an animal, this makes
it a Biomorph. The New Figure The group of Japanese arcaeologists was lead by a
japanese college proffesser named Masato Sakai. Who Did it? One discovery was made that allowed archaeologists to learn more about the Nazca people. It was Cahuachi, the lost city of the culture that created the
lines. Where they were from?
