WHAT ?
WHO ?
WHEN ?
HOW ?
HISTORY
BUKIT ANTARABANGSA LANDSLIDE
leakage of water pipe.
land to become increasingly unstable and unsafe.
Poorly-maintained drainage system.
PUNCAK SETIAWANGSA LANDSLIDE
caused by the unsuitable slope protection method used for the hill.
Water can still seep into the slope from areas not covered by the wall but the wall also prevents water from flowing out.
HULU LANGAT LANDSLIDE
Heavy and continued rain since several days.
causing the structure to be weak.
Landslide is a geological phenomenon that produce a large scale of ground movement that flow from unstable soil and it occurs quickly by gravitational pull and may be accompanied by carrier agent that is water flow.
LANDSLIDE
WHERE ?
landslide is occurred on the slopes, hillsides, cliffs, and ravines.
Landslides occur when the stability of the slope changes from a stable to an unstable condition.
They occur from gravity and soil exceeding its capacity to withstand water, rocks, boulders, or whichever.
Geotechnical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Water Resources Engineers.
SLIDES
TYPES OF LANDSLIDE
FALLS
Occured when the slop very steep.
a block of land that on top of slopecome off and fell down.
Produce mudflows which are associated with soil water content
Ground movement that cracks in the ground
FACTORS OF LANDSLIDE
Natural Factors
Human Factors
Prolonged rainfall
Earthquake
River wave
Removal of vegetation
Leaking pipe
Incorrect drainage system
Modification of slope
EFFECTS OF LANDSLIDE
3
WAYS TO REDUCE LANDSLIDE

EFFECTS ON BUILDINGS
EFFECTS ON PLANT-LIFE
INCREASE COST
RATE OF ECONOMIC DECREASE
Structure of the buildings become weaker.
Produce tilted and cracked on buildings.
Causes many injury of death and damage the trees.
Lots of money used due to repair, replace, and rebuild.
Government need spend extra money for medical section
Landslide affected many factory and industrical area.
So, no economic process occur and stuck
PLANTING PLANTS
Root will suck all excess water.
More stable during earthquake.
DRAINAGE SYSTEM
Prevent mudslides.
Less water excess and water will flow direct to beach or river.
RETAINING WALLS
As a support.
rely on their weight to counter the slope movement.

CONCLUSION
Landslide in Malaysia are very serious. Now we must do something to change it. Be an engineer that always ready with all the risk and can handle all problems that given. Also the citizens must know to overcome this problem.
