The Happy Face Spider is a spider that was first spotted in Hawaii. The spiders name comes from its unique pattern found on its back.Thers are 2 dots that look eyes, and a curved shape that looks like a smile. This spider is very difficult to find of its danger of extinction.Because of this spiders endangered status,it has become a symbol of Hawaii's threatened wildlife. This little creature in only 5 millimeters long.
Well there is this one scientist that has been studying the Happy Face Spider for around 20 years, his name is Dr.Geoff Oxford.Dr.Geoff thinks that the marks found on the spiders back are to warn predators, such as birds, ect. Some scientist think that the marks were just developed an another way to warn predators.
Well there reason that they live on the under side of the leaves is because they sometimes don't want to be found. This is one way that they hide from predators.
