Our program has a reputation for strong basketball officiating with ties to college and NBA ranks.
The Uniform
Fox 40 Whistle (field clinic)
Black athletic shorts
Black socks and shoes preferred
Basketball stripes (provided)

Modifications include:
20 minute halves
Running clock until last minute of each half
3 timeouts per team per game
5 minute overtime with 1 timeout per team, no carry over

Basic premises

Lead
starts on the baseline, anywhere from the lane line to the 3 point arc, as wide as the ball; always mirror the ball
Trail
always ball side with the lead, starts at the 28 ft line, stepping up or down for angles
Slot
opposite lead and trail, starting at the free throw line extended, stepping up or down for angles

As an intramural official, you now represent the RWC, whether you are on or off the clock. You are therefore held to a higher standard, especially when participating. Any problems or altercations while playing could result in suspension or termination from this job. If you cannot conduct yourself in a sporting manner while playing, you will not be working for us.

Don't panic, it's a lot of information
Review everything before the field clinic
Start watching as much basketball as possible. The more fouls you see, the easier they will be to identify in your games.
Ask questions, the more the better
Find a veteran official and watch one of their games on week 1. You will know what to expect in your game.
