The Seven Functions of Catering
Planning
the process of detailing and outlining all task required to accomplish the objective. The plan helps the caterer identify objectives derived from the mission statement. The plan is a blueprint that leads everyone towards a common goal.
Operations
Executions of Tasks- the process of listing the tasks and steps for executing the plan. It also includes assigning tasks to employees for execution.
Organizing the Event
Every organization has its own purposes and objectives. Organizing is the function employed to achieve the overall goals of the organization. Organization harmonizes the individual goals of the employees with overall objectives of the firm.
Equipment
These are based on the menu, service requirements, type and location of `event, and special needs of the clients.
Implementing
is the realization of an application, or execution of a plan, idea,
Controlling
an important function because it helps to check the errors and to take the corrective action so that deviation from standards are minimized and stated goals of the organization are achieved in a desired manner.
Understanding Insurance and legal Issues
ensures the basic are covered to protect ones livelihood . This includes creation of team to do routine safety checks of the staff, equipment and procedures to ensure proper compliance with HACCP standards
