5th Period What is Powerade? Powerade is an sports-enhanced energy drink that gives athletes better performence, stamina, and agility. Products Coca-Cola offers more than 600 brands of products in more than 200 countries worldwide.
The Coca-Cola Company also produces a number of other soft drinks including: Barq’s, Coca-Cola, DASANI, Cr Pepper, Fanta, FUZE, Hi-C, Mello Yello, Minute Maid, NESTEA, Sprite, and many more. History Powerade was introduced 1988 and made a grand entrance being the first energy drink to become the official sports drink of the Olympic Games held in Seoul.
In 2001, Powerade improved on its formula by adding different vitamins to increase metabolism.
In 2002, Powerade updated its logo to new sports-grip bottles. History In 2007, Coca-Cola bought Glacéau, the owner of VitaminWater and SmartWater
In 2008, Powerade created a zero-calorie sports drink with many electrolytes and no carbohydrates, Fun Facts Powerade vending machines can be seen in the "Enter the Matrix" video game.
LeBron James is an official spokesperson of Powerade.

Powerade was only created 30 years ago, but it is the second leading sports drink in the world. Powerade contains vitamins and electrolytes needed to refuel athletes. As their slogan states “Sport is what you make it,” so go make your hard work count and buy a bottle of Powerade.
