A medical professional who works as part of a team with a doctor.

A PA is a graduate of an accredited program and gains license to practice under the supervision of a physician/

Diagnose and Treat Illnesses
Order and Interpret Lab Tests
Perform Procedures
Assist in Surgery
Provide Patient Education
Counsel Patients
Perform Other Duties Assigned by Physician

How Do I Become A Physician Assistant?
Complete an Undergraduate Degree and meet all the required pre-requisites. These typically include:
-Organic Chem 1 and 2
-Medical Terminology
-Two Upper Level Biology Courses
Take The GRE
ISU Minimum:
155 Quantitative
155 Qualitative
4.0 Writing
Minimum GPA: 3.0
Three Letters of Recommendation
Personal Statement
Preference Given to Indiana Residents
Health Care Experience-Not Required, but highly encouraged!
Enjoy PA School
Typically 27 month program (12 months) of didactic and clinical work.
Take the PANCE, get licensed and practice
$475 to take the exam
Offerred year round, except near winter holidays
