Sexism
All over the world there are people suffering by sexism, but, generally, it is hidden so well that almost nobody is able to notice it. But what is sexism, in fact?
Sexism, also known as gender discrimination, is the prejudice or discrimination of a person's sex or gender.
Sexism is the prejudice or discrimination of a person's sex or gender, and it has been seen in the society we live in today since the beginning of the civilization, by the imposition of men over women.
Although sexism can affect any gender, it shows to be more likely to be seen in women's lives, once it all started by putting them in a lower position.
Classic and very known examples of sexism is the objectification of women's bodies as well as associate them with house work.
Women are also very overestimated, mainly when doing something which is socially designed for men, such as being in a political position or even making a tire change. But one of the worst things sexism can make women pass through, besides domestic violence, is rape, which happens precisely because of their bodies' objectification.
Although all these facts, there's a way out of this form of oppression, and it's called Feminism. It is not the opposite of sexism, but it fights against it, by giving people freedom of expression that every human being deserves.
