Elizabeth Proctor
The wife of John Proctor, they're both people of strong morals and principles. She has great confidence in her own morality. In Act 2 her and John are going through a very tough time in their relationship because of John's affair with former servant Abigail Williams. She then gets wrongly accused of witchcraft by Abigail who is trying to seek revenge.
Mary Warren
John Proctor is shown as an honest character throughout the play and in Act 2. This is the act where it starts out with Proctor and Elizabeth in their house, its really tense as they both know Proctor had an affair with Abigail. He is a farmer in Salem who is has a voice of reason and justice, in both Act 2 and the Crucible. When his wife gets accused he defends her as he is an intelligent man who can detect foolishness easily.
